For us, it was love at first sight; I still fondly think back to the day we first met. You looked at me with your faithful doggy eyes, and from that very first moment I was captivated by you.

I simply had to have you, no matter what might come; for one brief heartbeat, time stood still between us. Your tail began wagging with joy, and you ran eagerly toward me. At that moment I knew we were a dream team — you and I.

The pact was sealed, and I took you home. From that moment on, I was never alone. I take you for walks through storms and rain; no adventure is ever too daring for the two of us.

No one fetches a stick quite as wonderfully as you do. Other walkers watch us with happy smiles. You make sure no stranger can harm me, for anyone who tried would soon feel your protective anger.

You stand by me in every situation; to me, you are the most loyal of all animals. Whenever I feel down, you gently pad over to comfort me, and as I stroke your soft fur, I find peace once again.

You are so dear to my heart. You soon dry my tears, until my laughter once again echoes through our home. You place your furry paw into my hand; sometimes happiness in life can be wonderfully simple.

With your oversized paw resting in my human hand, you win the hearts of people in town and country alike. I have whispered many a secret into your ear, and never once have you betrayed my trust.

With your cool, wet nose and your velvety-soft fur, we understand each other even without a bark. My friend on four paws, please always stay by my side, for with you beside me, I will always be happy.
